The agar agar held the porcelain powder together before sintering in the oven,
leaving behind a clean material with unique properties.
The process involved collecting, smashing, and tumbling high-fired porcelain waste to create a powder. This powder was mixed with heated agar agar and cast in molds. After drying and firing, the final product was a seed tray inspired by nature, utilizing the material's porosity to distribute moisture across the surface. The project not only solved StudioZAND’s waste problem but also showcased the potential of recycled porcelain in design.
